DAWN, Southwest States Intensify Efforts on Western Nigeria Integrated Development Master Plan

…DAWN Commission in partnership with the Ministries for Economic Planning and Budget across the Southwest States to develop a 25-Year Development Master Plan for Southwest Nigeria

On Thursday, 21st March, 2019, DAWN Commission, managers of the Western Nigeria Regional Integration Agenda, convened the inaugural meeting of the Technical Working Committee (TWC) constituted to drive the preparation of the Region’s 25-Year Integrated Development Master Plan. The TWC was constituted by the Commissioners for Economic Planning and Budget across Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo States, following the mandate of the Western Nigeria Governors’ Forum (WNGF) given to DAWN Commission to facilitate the preparation of a 25-Year Integrated Development Master Plan for Western Nigeria, a Region with many potentials waiting to be fully optimised.

The meeting, which took place at the DAWN Commission’s Office located on the 10th Floor of the iconic Cocoa House, Ibadan had quality participation from the Technical Working Committee members across the six States in the Region. Also at the meeting were Dr. Olalekan Yinusa, The Supervisor, State of Osun Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development, and Prof. Vincent Akinyosoye, a Consultant & Former Director General of Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS); who is both providing strategic input to the process along with other experts.

The meeting, hosted by the Director General of DAWN Commission, Mr. Seye Oyeleye, was a platform for the preparation activities towards the 25-Year Development Master Plan.
