Dr Ade Adeagbo

Today, at DAWN Commission, we celebrate one of ours as he joins the league of Quinquagenarians.
A Consummate Omoluabi and a Fine Gentleman, in person of Dr. Adebowale Olukayode Adeagbo, celebrates his Golden Jubilee.

Dr. Ade Adeagbo is a corporate strategist, a thorough researcher, a business planner, an organisational designer and developer; and a Leadership and Change Manager.

Ade, as he is fondly called by his friends, was born on the 9th of November 1967 in ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
He had his secondary school education at the Archbishop Aggey Memorial Secondary School, Mushin, Lagos where he finished with 7 credit passes in 1983.

Thereafter, he gained admission into the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy in 1989.

He then travelled to the United Kingdom where he attained an Advanced Diploma in Administration Management at the Institute of Administrative Management, UK in 1996; Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management at Thames Valleys University in 1996; Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Thames Valleys University in 1998; and Doctorate in Business Administration at the Bournemouth University in 2008.

Ade has also taught in several higher institutions, such as the Hammersmith & West London College in 2001, as a Part Time Lecturer in Business Establishment & Accounting. He was a sessional Part Time lecturer in Business Management & Planning at the Islington Enterprise Council in 2002. He also served as a sessional Lecturer at the Bexley College in 2008, before his current appointment as the Programme Director of the Executive Development Courses at London School of Business & Finance.

In 2007, Dr. Adeagbo was appointed as the pioneer Executive Director of the Yoruba Academy, a multi-disciplinary institution that brings together scholars, politicians, businessmen and experts in Yoruba language, culture, economics, law, science and technology, and governance.

His goal and mission in the Academy is to ensure the preservation of the Yoruba language, as well as the socio-cultural and economic development of the Yoruba peoples worldwide, that is both in its South-West homeland in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.

Ade is currently holding many responsibilities and positions.

These include:
• Executive Director, Pharmaceutical Industry practioners’ Association of Nigeria (PIPAN – Umbrella body of 5 Nigerian pharma trade associations)
• Business Development Consultant, Ultra Logistics Co. Ltd (pharma Mega Distribution Company)
• Executive Director, Yoruba Academy (South West of Nigeria research and policy ‘think tank’)
• Lecturer, Executive Development Programmes, London School of Business & Finance
• Europe Coordinating Editor, African Thesis Online (online policy and management journal)
• Director of Training, Total protection Solutions Ltd (training consultancy firm in the private security sector).
• Visiting Lecturer, Post-Graduate Studies, Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State
Some Notable Achievement
In his over 20 years of UK and international (EU & Africa) knowledge and experience, here are some of his notable achievements: 
• Lecturing in Nigeria and in the UK, which demonstrates his communication and presentation skills
• A strategist for the Africa-Europe Joint Commission on inter-continental bilateral development 
• Led the strategy for the governance framework for the UK National Health Service (NHS)
• Part of the team that midwifed DAWN Commission (a Southwest Regional Integration Agency)
• Listed in the 165th Edition of Who’s Who UK and Europe
• The first Chair of Community Alliance, UK
• Provided leadership for the delivery of 70million BPS community builders’ fund.

Dr Adeagbo is, no doubt, a rare breed.

Not many people have so much content yet choose to hold on to the pillar of humility. His perspectives are always refreshing and he has mastered the art of striking a balance when things seem like tipping over.
He is unapologetically passionate about humanity, passionate about the future, proud of his heritage and an ardent proponent for development.

Eternally youthful, as you leave the old age of youth and start the youth of old age, we at DAWN Commission wish you a happy birthday and a future filled with happiness, joy and grace.

Ade is happily married to Ibironke – a UK and Nigerian certified chartered accountant, and their marriage is blessed with four children.
